Working for a day

Yesterday was a very long day. I accepted a video job where I was shooting a series of interviews. I got up at 5:30AM to meet up with Charisse for this gig. The thought of making around $600 for the day made me happy to work for ten hours. Unfortunately however, my day was long from over at 4:30. To make this shoot possible I had to pull some strings and flips schedules around a bit. This meant that I had to work the closing shift at Whiffies. That’s 7PM to 3AM with additional time for closing up shop. I was crazy tired come 10PM and on my second or third Yerba Matte. I got a peak of energy around 2:30AM with the light at the end of the tunnel. I got the bulk of my closing choirs done and got ready to close the window. I was out of the cart by 3:30AM which is pretty good. I got home around 3:45ish and was significantly less tired then I was an hour previous. So, I hopped online and messed around a little before hoping in the shower to degrease myself. I had to get some sleep because I needed to be back in the cart at 10:30AM giving me about five and a half hours of sleep. I didn’t really want to get up as one might guess but I flopped myself out of bed, brushed my teeth, splashed some water on my face, got dressed and moseyed out the door. I got to work to find a giant Keg cart sitting next to Whiffies. Within a few moments I found that Deschutes was scratching Cartopia’s back for having participated in a charity event for them in August. In their way of saying thank you for what we did they set up an evening of zombie fun, starting at 6PM. So, here I sit, awaiting 6PM to arrive, to watch as a horde of people crowd the lot in hungry anticipation of free beer, a movie and a zombie dance. And what’s most interesting of all… we’re going to run out of pies within an hour of the event starting. Tonight, without pies, there might be a riot.
